e-Sword HD: Bible Study to Go App Reviews

This platform is so so so powerful... yet mobile use case really needs syncing of notes, history and such via cloud.

I bought this app for my iPad and when I bought an iPhone I decided to download it to that as well. Only theres one slight problem. Slight, no. Purpose, yes. There is no cross platform version of this app. You have to pay $4.99 here for the iPad version and $1.99 for the iPhone version. Rick Meyers is rapidly steering completely away from his beloved verse/slogan "Freely you have received, freely give" and towards "He amassed great wealth..." Ive seen it all before. Christians get a taste of money and they cant stop. Pretty soon theyre selling "anointed" prayer cloths for a hefty "donation" while thinking up another money making scheme, which may or may not involve buying a private jet. Its this greed that makes we as Christians look like thieves and peddlers trying to attain great wealth. It needs to stop. Its a pretty good Bible study port from the original but lacking real polish and some really bang for your buck features. Five dollars may seem like a lot but its really not. That extra $1.99, on another iOS device, on the same account, that makes it too much. Does he make you pay for the Apple Watch version too? How about the iMac or MacBook? Im still waiting for him to make it a monthly deal like Microsoft did with Office. Not good, Rick. Not good at all. Go back to your original slogan, I missed you then. Sure coding takes time and effort but it took time and effort when you held to your "Freely received, freely give" slogan. What happened? Two and a half stars.

Best bible app ever! I use it all the time. Havent found anything comparable so dont have to look any further.

One of the best English and multiple languages Bible reading and study aid in one package. Well worth the investment for your life.

I love this app for the Bible, and use it all the time on several different devices. It is very useful as a study tool as well as for just reading the Bible.

This is a wonderful and very powerful app. Very well constructed with plenty of options. Just one question and I may have overlooked it somewhere, is there a way the HD version will speak the verses on iPads tablets? But irregardless it is a wonderful app.

Very useful. Easy to use.

This has been a wonderful app for me because I can read the Word, get the word expounded, take my own notes. The only thing I dont like and it may be my iPad Pro that is the problem, but getting to the bottom menu to change back to the Bible from the editor. I end up having to choose the topic button and then touching the screen to access the bottom menu. Should be a icon on the top menu to go to other screens. Even if that icon is a drop down. Otherwise, great app.

This is an great tool to study the scriptures. I highly recommend it for anyone who is serious about studying YHWH word.

I started using e-Sword years ago on my desktop pc and thought it was great. I just recently purchased an iPad Pro and wanted e-sword on it so I purchased the HD version for it. Its worth way more than the $4.99 I paid for it. I have since purchased a couple of the in-app supplements for it and I couldnt be more happier with it. This is an awesome bible study tool!

I know the version for Windows and Linux and are very good. I have all versions in Portuguese and can make many comparisons. In this version there is no version in Portuguese, so I suggest that all versions are available, as occurs in the free version. Did they charge the price of $ 2 each Portuguese version is already well priced! Dynamics of purchase must also change how many additional resources, making it easier to acquire. The software is good, but only allows comparison between two versions of the Bible. Hopefully think about it in a future update. The program has everything to be the best electronic Bible for Ipad, lets see if it will engage!

This app has excellent features, and great ressources. A fine iPad version of the famous e-Sword for PC. The big problem is : no French version ! A shame for an app of this kind, at this price.

In 2004 I had bought this software for Windows and I really liked it. I have tried out some Bible apps for iPad but never was quite satisfied with them. Then I thought of this software and was very happy to find it as an app. it is super easy to use, gréât possibilités : Bible reading, quick search, notepad, copy, references, dictionnaires, contains different Bible versions etc. You can add Bibles (some are free, some not) Great tool!

E-sword is the best study bible for PC - and now, in iPad, we have all the content for the read on-the-go. Commentaries, devotionals, strong, concordance... Its a great resource for who wants study deeply the Word from God.

You really should have the massoretic version of the hebrew bible. If possible with strongs numbers

Id suggest you to add two features: 1. Clear text on Greek, Hebrew and KJV bibles. The Strongs numbers and morphology appears after each word, making the reading become exhaustive and difficult. You could add the "click on word" feature to see its strong number and morphology. 2. Add Massoretic text on Hebrew bible.
